Katelyn is here!!!!!

As some of you know Scott's daughter, Katelyn, was able to make a long awaited trip to come stay with us for a couple of weeks this summer! She arrived in Salt Lake on Saturday evening, and as you can imagine we were all very excited to see her and finally get to spend this quality time with her! She has grown into a beautiful young woman and the whole family has been having lots of fun, the girls adore their big sister, and Quade as well practically from the moment she got off of the plane they have been talking and teasing and "bickering" just like typical bro's and sisters do, seeing the two of them together you almost wouldn't even realize they had grown up apart. Of course Scott and I are having just as much fun as the kiddos, and he's been walking around on cloud 9, it was the best fathers day present he ever could have recieved.
Since we had gone to Salt Lake to get Katy we decided to take down the camper and camp and spend a day having some fun at Lagoon. Figured what better way to break the ice and have some fun then riding rides til we were dizzy! We were kind of worried about wether or not mother nature would agree with our plans, it rained all day saturday on the trip down and the next morning when we woke up it was still pouring outside, but luckily at 11:00 just as the gates of lagoon were opening the clouds parted and out came the sun. We actually ended up being very happy it rained as much as it did, because the bad weather apparently scared lots of people away and the entire day we didn't have to deal with any lines for any rides. most the time the rides would be half empty and we only had to wait if the ride to stop and then let us on. Amusement parks are so much more fun when you don't have to spend half the day waiting in lines, and the weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold.
On monday we had origionally planned to head home and stop at Lava Hot Springs on our way, but when we heard about lagoons bounceback for only 9.00 per person and the kids had had so much fun the day before we went back for a second day of lagoon fun instead. It worked out very well, i had purchased our tickets from our local credit union at a discounted price (if anyone is going and belongs to a credit union i highly recommend getting your ticks that way, it is 11.00 cheaper the buying at the gate) So we ended up getting 2 days of fun for what it would of cost, paying at the gate for 1. Our second day we rode rides for a few hours and then went to cool off in lagoona beach, Scott, Katy, and I didn't spend much time in the water because it was FREEZING (the water, outside was nice), but of course that didn't faze my fish of children one bit they splashed away anyways, til finally i had to make Makenna get out because her lips were blue and her fingers like ice. We did all walk away with sunburns though, Scott's being the worse, he had spent most of the time laying in a lounge chair and his stomach, legs and even the tops of his feet are bright red, poor guy is kind of miserable in that reguard!

This week we are relaxing at home and spending time together as a family and then Friday we are heading up to do some camping in Yellowstone Park, can't wait! Then after that it is off to Wyoming because scott will have to get back to work so we are going to spend the week up there with him and then back home in time for the 4th! So stay tuned................

A Baptism and a Wedding

As you know on May 30 MaKayla was baptised. We just want to thank all of the family for coming up and supporting her on her special day (we missed you steve and becca) I know it really meant alot to MaKayla and the rest of us, it wouldn't of been the same without everyone. I love it when the family gets together, this includes gmas and gpas and my aunts and uncles. Thank you everyone for coming and all of your support :) MaKayla was baptised by her uncle Tyson and confirmed by her Grandpa Tanner who both did a fabulous job!! Unfortunately i realized all too late that i never took a single picture during the BBQ after the baptism, but thankfully Traci has some cute pics!! I was concentrating so much on making sure i remembered everything, apparently i forgot all about pictures *sigh*
Here are some pictures from Kaylas special day (thanks amber) Oh and also the new pictures on my header were taken by amber for us and she did a wonderful job!!

Then last saturday my nephew Gage got married to his girlfriend Lindsay. I learned something too just a little hint for any who may still be single out there, I wouldn't plan an outdoor wedding in June in Idaho. Weather had been nice and sunny for about 2 weeks with only the occasional thunder/rain storm hitting in the later evening hours. Til of course the day of an outside wedding, it rained and rained all day long, thankfully they had the church reserved as back up just in case but the weather made a serious crimp in plans and had everyone scrambling to move to new location. It still was a very nice wedding though (once they made another of many trips to the old location to pick up the forgotten marriage licence) My nephew Jordan was best man and little Jasmine was the flower girl (Gage is her father)

And finally speaking of the weather........why oh why is it the first year i plant new flowers outside at this house, the year we get a major hailstorm that leaves damage and destruction in its wake??? I'm not sure how many of my baby flowers are going to survive after that blast by mother nature! The lilac trees are missing the lilacs, and the Snowball trees have little to no snowballs, my baby rose bush with its pretty new rose blossems is drooping and almost bare, and the ground is scattered with leaves and wilting petals. Why oh why!!!!!! :(

Mothers Day

First of all, Happy Mothers day to all the mom's out there, hope you had a great one :)

This weekend finally after weeks of rain and tornado force winds we were finally blessed with near perfect weather, not too chilly and you could spend hours outdoors without soaking in sweat, it was bliss! So for mothers day we decided to take advantage of the weather and get outdoors. So me and the kiddos (unfortunately scott is at work) and my great niece Jasmine whom we were watching this weekend decided to go to the zoo and taphus park. One of these days i'd like to go to a big zoo, but the little zoo at taphus park isn't bad, over the years they've made several changes so it is kind of fun to see what's new. The nice thing was since the weather wasn't too hot, all the animals, minus the few that are still in their winter homes, were outside lounging about. My favorites are definately the monkeys have been since i was a little kid.

Funny thing about the picture of Kayla in front of the donkey right before i took it she had made a heehaw sound, and i told her she had found her long lost family because she sounded just like them and that's the look i got from her haha. Oh and Traci and Amber are the inspiration behind the lion head fountain photos....after you both had pictures like that from your zoo trips i had to have one too haha, Kaylas is better then mine though haha. And as a reminder if you would like to see the pictures better, just click on it and it will open bigger!
After the zoo we went to the playland and had a picnic of sandwiches and the kids played around for a while. Then we came home and jasmine and myself took a much needed nap! Then i was teasing the kids about dinner and how i was going to have to cook for myself and so Quade goes well all i can cook is hamburgers........so he took over as grillmaster and made us some burgers on the bbq.

All in all it was a pretty good mothers day, now i just hope this warm weather lasts so we can continue to find ways to enjoy it!

The last cpl weeks!

I seriously have to quit procrastinating with my blogging! So this is going to be another long one probably.

First off a couple weeks ago me the girls, and max decided to take advantage of a nice day and go walk the idaho falls greenbelt, Quade was a stick in the mud and chose to stay home as usual..teenagers!!! Here are some pictures from our day in the sun, and you can see how huge max is getting. He's only 6 months and is just slightly bigger then Lexie already he's going to be huge when he quits growing!!Then last weekend we traveled down to Salt Lake City to see my brother steve and his family who were in town for his sister in laws wedding. I hadn't seen them since last august so it was great to see how big my neice and nephew are getting. We decided to meet up at Chucky Cheese so the kids would be able to run around and have a good time, although i think some of the adults had just as much fun playing games and winning tickets! Some of my favorite pictures below are of Oakley and Scott, she thought it was so much fun and so funny to steal his hat from him then put it back on and then take it again, very cute!! It was a brief visit because Steven had to head back towards home that evening, but i'm really glad we had that time to spend together!

After the visit with Steven we went down and spent the night with my sister Traci and Mike. They had put up a tent in their living room for the girls to sleep in and had all the fixings for Smores so we could have an "indoor campout" wich i thought was very clever of her! We played Uno Attack, ate too much candy, marshmellows and popcorn (least i did) and then ended the night watching Kungfu Panda. We had a great time and thank you so much for letting us come and stay :) We will definately have to do it again sometime! Unfortunately i don't have any pictures from there because my batteries died in my camera while we were at Chucky Cheese and we forgot to download the ones from hers onto Scott's laptop like we planned but you can check out her blog the purser pair, if you would like to see some!

It was a quick getaway but it's always nice to get away from the everyday chaos of life, expecially when you get to see family!

Last but not least here is just some random pictures i haven't posted that i figured i'd share!

Easter Fun, and other stuff (Better late then never)

We had a pretty good Easter this year, only bummer was Scott had to work and wasn't home :( On Saturday the girls decorated Easter eggs and we made Chocolate chip cookies. The kids were happy with what came in their baskets and lots of candy was ate by all! Here are some pictures of our Easter weekend.
I have to explain the little dress papers in the pictures. After the kiddos had gone to bed I had gone downstairs and noticed these little papers scattered around the living room. One read, Kenna's spot, Kayla's spot, Quade's spot, and Jenn's spot she had left little labels as to where the easter bunny should leave everyones baskets I thought it was just too darn cute and had to take a picture of a couple!
Also on Sunday Scott's sister, mom and our nephews and baby Jasmine came over for dinner and to have an Easter egg hunt, I was so excited this was the first time in 3 years i think it was actually nice enough to have the hunt outside instead of in the living room! The kids gathered up tons of eggs filled with candy. And we had a yummy dinner, of what is in Tanner tradition apparently, since we all had the same meal although we weren't together haha.

Prior to Easter weekend during Scott's days off when the weather was actually nice for a day or two we took advantage and got some major yard work done, the biggest project being taking down the cherry tree in our front yard, we decided we wanted to open up some more free space. After getting all the branches cut off and hauled off we were left debating what to do about the massive stump. Scott after seeing on tv at sometime or another a truck pulling out a stump decided he wanted to see if you really could do that and he wanted me to get out the camera to document. Well as you will see, yes a pickup can pull out a stump, after about 10 minutes of back and forth jerking!

Then last but not least i just had to add this because I thought it was so funny and to show you all that no matter what the age all men are just big dorks!! I am always having to get on Scott because he's worse then the kids when it comes to eating vegetables so i'm always telling him I'm not seeing any green on his plate and he needs to get some. So the other day he dishes up his food and sits at the table, and i look over and this is what i see.......

Men!!!!!!!! Any suggestions on how to get them to eat their vegetables??????
Until next time!!!

I looked at the Calander and it lied to me!

My calander is telling me that we are at the end of March..........I believe it lied i think it's the end of November :(

This last week was Spring break for the kiddos..........Mother nature forgot to add the Spring to this years break! It has been FREEZING all week and then on Wednesday once we had finally ridden ourselves of 99% of the snow this is what happened.....

On thursday i think we hit the high 30's so that snow melted and the winds blew for the rest of the week.

Now today we are once again in the throws of a full blown blizzard. I just took these next pictures a few minutes ago. What happened to spring????
